Garioch Games returns with packed 2018 timetable

The Garioch Games is back for 2018 with an extended timetable full of new activities.

The event, inspired by the Golden Games that takes place in Aberdeen City, will run from Monday 2nd- Friday 6th July. The five-day event encourages people over the age of 60 to be active and socialise within their community, with an emphasis on fun and enjoyment.

Activities will take place at various venues including the Garioch Sports Centre, Garioch Indoor and Ten Pin Bowling Club, Inverurie Men’s Shed, Kintore and Kemnay. Popular activities from last year - such as Gentle Exercise, Senior Spinning Class, Badminton, Health Walks, Walking Netball, Walking Football and many more – remain, whilst new activities such as Ten Pin Bowling, Tennis, Indoor Bowls, Yoga and an Over 60’s Disco called Boogie in the Bar have been added to round off an action-packed week.

Every activity is completely free of charge and is supported by a number of local third sector/charity organisations – Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership, Inverurie Loco Works F.C., Garioch Sports Centre, Aberdeen FC Community Trust, Alzheimer Scotland and Paths for All.

For more information or to book* an activity please call the Garioch Sports Centre on 01467 626141 or visit the Garioch Sports Centre at Burghmuir Drive, Inverurie.
