Garioch Sports - Celebrates 30 Years In 2026!
In 2026, Garioch Sports Centre celebrates a major milestone — 30 years of providing community sports and fitness facilities for people of all ages and abilities across the Garioch and surrounding areas.
Since officially opening on 11 December 1996 by Inverurie-born former world number one squash player, Peter Nicol, the Centre has gone from strength to strength. Today, it welcomes over 7,000 visitors each week and is recognised as a leading social enterprise in Scotland.
To all stakeholders, past and present — including casual users, members, sports clubs, staff, or trustees — who have played a part in this journey, we should all be incredibly proud to have contributed to GSC’s 30-year legacy.
